About the Devonshire Arms FC

The Devonshire Arms FC was founded in 2000 by Matthew Knights, Terry Hall and 'Stibbs' one night in the pub. At the time it sounded like a laugh but they were'nt to know the inevitable anguish and pain that was to follow on many a hungover Sunday morning.

The Devonshire Arms, situated in Dudley Street (off Castle Road), Bedford, was home to a variety of drinkers, young and old. With a good base of players in the pub back then the 'Devy' was quickly formed and went on to win their first ever game 2-1 against the Henlow Rhinos.

'Stibbs' was the first to pick up the reigns as manager with his mate 'Bones' assisting him. Matthew Knights took on the role of secretary, while Terry Hall was just a shy right winger with talent that went un-noticed by Premiership scouts (Terry wrote that part himself, can you tell?). Many of a current crop of players joined and you could say the rest is history, so we will... the rest is history...

Now in our 9th season the Devonshire Arms has endured some harder times in recent seasons but continues to battle on under the guidance of current manager, Andy Norbury.

'Come on the Devy!'
